Helvetica is a widely used sans serif typeface that has been popular in publishing since the s. Commonly used alternatives to Helvetica include Arial and Swiss. Many other typefaces come close, and some are better matches than others, but if you are going for a certain look with a little bit of variation, the long list of Helvetica-like typefaces offers an embarrassment of riches.
